Dr. Marcelo Kreiner
Chief Scientist & Co-founder, Thervia Health
Dr. Marcelo Kreiner is the Chief Scientist and Co-founder of Thervia Health. With decades of clinical practice and international scientific research, his work on referred facial pain and AI-based modeling is part of the scientific foundation of TMDream.
A dentist from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and a PhD from Umeå University (Sweden). He has published over 50 research works in orofacial pain, TMJ disorders, occlusal splints, acupuncture, sleep disorders, neuralgias, occlusion, nanotechnology and craniomandibular reflexometry, and has given invited courses and lectures across South America, North America, Europe and Asia. His work revealed that orofacial pain can be the sole prodromal symptom of acute cardiac ischemia and enabled classification of pain signatures in TMJ disorders.
Dr. Marcelo Kreiner
Founder & Chief Scientist"The convergence of orofacial and cardiac pain pathways in the trigeminal nucleus was a clinical mystery. Translating that complex neurophysiology into mathematical algorithms and artificial neural networks was the key to saving lives through TMDream."
